Back from the Film Archives - Spring in Holland

Spring 2012 - Wassenaar and Leiden

Sometimes small things catch our eye.
The first photo is somewhat of a memory now, as it's the number on our garage in our house in Wassenaar. This summer, we moved to The Hague. The second shot is an art deco post box in Leiden.

Using Up Film

Spring & Summer 2011 - Delft, Dublin, Wassenaar

The problem that I have with my Lomography cameras is this - I take film photos of something or somewhere really cool, like Sicily, and then I still have about 10 shots on my camera. Three months later, I finally develop them.

The first three shots are of Delft, all taken around the town square.
The next two are from Dublin, one taken while walking across the Liffey, and the other looking straight up from Front Arch in Trinity.
The final shot brings us back to Holland, in the fields outside of Wassenaar where my dad and I were riding our bikes.

Around Instagam - Walking

Summer 2012 - Wassenaa

These photos are from a walk in a nature reserve near my house. This is the first time I've experienced lens flare with an iPhone, I have to say I quite like it!

Around Instagram - Creatures and Food

Summer 2012 - Holland

Photos of the Kee-Tays hanging out, enjoying the sun when it decides to show up...
And food. My first attempt at making a macaroon (my second attempt did not look this good) and a coffee from Coffee Star in Leiden.

Christmas

Christmas 2010 - Wassenaar

It was icy outside, the presents were wrapped, and the kitties were content.
What more could we ask for?

Oranjefest

This was when my camera was still set to "bulb" and overexposing stuff in daylight like a jerk.
But at night...

It was perfect for Oranjefest.

My Village

Wassenaar is a village.
For some reason people think it's funny that I live in a village, but no - really, it's a village :)

Suzanne

Suzanne is one of my mother's friends. She is very eccentric, and very wonderful.
Suzanne likes to have art in her house from those around her. For instance, at the moment, she has multiple photos done by my mother, and a coloured pencil drawing of converse by me.
Soon she will also have these three photos hanging in her office:

The first photo was taken the day before Easter at an indoor market on Arthur Avenue in the Bronx, the second was taken late at night at Rockefeller Center this past winter, and the third in Wassenaar, (Holland,) on my walk to the shopping street this spring.

Thank you Suzanne!

One of My Many Homes

Being a Third Culture Kid, I have many homes:
Houston, where I am now and am originally from; Holland, where my family currently resides; Sarah Lawrence, where I have been at school the last two years; and soon to be Trinity College Dublin, where I will spend the year abroad. These are some photos of the town where I live in Holland, Wassenaar. Shot with my Diana Mini.
