Dryburgh Abbey

Fall 2012 - Dryburgh Abbey

This was the last Abbey we got to go in to. It is unique compared to the others because it's not in the middle of a town, but was actually incorporated into a Romantic garden in the 18th century. It's a shame I don't have more photos, (not very many of them stood out to me...) but I really like the ones I have!

Amsterdam Garden Days

Summer 2012 - Amsterdam

Every summer private gardens all over Amsterdam open up to the public for a weekend. Last time we went, it poured rain for the first half of the day, and stayed cloudy and grey for the rest. This time, the sun was out the whole time. We went to about eighteen of the forty gardens, over about three hours. I can't imagine doing them all in one day!

Flying Home

Summer 2012 - Suzanne's Garden, Houston

I was back at Suzanne's this past summer, (see last year) where I discovered a few new additions as well as visiting one of my old friends - the flying pig.

The Garden of the Flying Pig

 Summer 2011 - Houston, Suzanne's Garden

All these metalwork sculptures are, of course, by the same guy.
The flying pig, the bottle tree, and the huge zipper.
Check out the background of the second photo - behind the pink cactus flowers, there may be lurking a kitty.

Suzanne's Garden - Black and White and Collections

Summer 2011 - Houston, Suzanne's Garden

Suzanne likes to collect things - pretty, cool, whacky things, but none the less, they collect.
The first photo is by a metal sculpture that creates sea creatures out of car parts. This is one of the many that inhabit this garden.
Then there are the wind chimes - always a new one every time I come by.
The vintage lawn chairs...
And the bottle tree. The palm leaves? So many Heineken bottles.

Ahem... I'm back!

So I don't actually remember the last time I posted. Do you?
The question is, can I catch up this time...

Fall 2010 - County Galway, an almost town called Clare Tuam (Clare Toomb)
Shot with the Diana Mini

A lovely day for walking down a country pathway.

For anyone out there who actually looks at this, I hope to be posting more.
As I'm graduating soon, I should have plenty of free, unemployed time in my future.
Here's to more posts!

Around Haarlem

Sometimes when walking around Haarlem you'll find a bike...

 That belongs to the Ivy.
Or a bed..

That thinks it's a bench.

Easter Break Photos

I am so backlogged on photos!
I'm hoping that soon I'll at least be showing you all summer photos
(even though in Ireland, its technically already fall...)

Anyway - Easter weekend, in the New York Botanical Garden in the Bronx and NYC.

Playing Catch Up

When I started this blog, I had a ton of photos to show everyone.
So, since I've began this, I've been playing catch up.
It's currently the middle of August, and I'm in Edinburgh (for The Fringe) but yet, here are some photos from the Spring in Bronxville.
Don't worry - Edinburgh soon :)

Why is there red in these photos?
Funny story - When I was trying to get this film out of my camera, something strange happened, and the film broke apart from the canister. So I sat in my closet, and rolled the whole thing up in the dark. These two were at the end of the roll, and got some light.
And they're some of my favourite on the roll!

The Majorelle Garden

Originally owned by Jacques Majorelle, who lived in Morocco for most of his life, the garden's most recent owner was Yves Saint-Laurent and Pierre Bergé. The garden is full of fantastic blue, yellow, and orange buildings and plant pots
