Today my father flies back to Holland.

In honor of that here is a photo of how lovely The Hague is in Spring.

Malta

This spring break my family and I went to Malta.

Needless to say it was beautiful.

It's Dark Out

It's a rainy day here in Houston, Texas. 

So this morning, instead of waking up to sunshine I woke up to cloudy and gray.

Maybe it's time for some night shots?

Final Festival Photos

These are the last of the New Island Festival bunch.
There were just so many interesting things out for the festival,

Or these paintings, done by Dutch art students

And this contraption, that turned into an acrobatic, theatrical performance after dark.
It was good times.

Governors Island

Governors Island is gorgeous. 

Especially with all the art from the Festival all around.

Governors Island used to be a kind of Military base and the architecture reflects that. There are all these big stately buildings that look almost southern, surrounded by huge trees and streets. And directly over the trees is the New York City skyline. It's really a beautiful place.

New Island Festival

The New Island Festival was an Arts festival that was held in New York on Governor's Island as a part of the events taking place in The Netherlands and New York City to celebrate the 400th year since Henry Hudson landed on Manhattan. One of the attractions was a performance by Boom Chicago, an Amsterdam based, American run theatre group that works similarly to Second City. I interned for Boom Chicago, so I headed out to see them, and had a wonderful time with my friend Emily exploring the festival.
